We’re getting married!
Rocio & Blagoy
Friday, 28 ~ August ~ 2026
Our Story
Our relationship has been built on a simple division of labour: she cooks, he eats. She experiments with new recipes, he provides honest feedback (mainly positive, sometimes diplomatic because new recipes might mean whatever is in the fridge). It’s worked surprisingly well for years and turning to be the perfect partnership.
Now we’re taking the party to Málaga: the bride’s hometown, where the weather is consistently sunny and the groom’s Duolingo Spanish will finally be put to the test finally…
We’re looking forward to celebrating with you in a place that means a lot to us and making it official (for the third time!).
Fun Facts
How we met: Mutual friends (thanks Hinge)
First date activity: Involved food. Obviously.
Her role: CEO / CFO (Chief Experimentation / Food Officer)
His role: CTO (Chief Tasting Officer)
Shared weekend activity: Exploring bakeries, restaurants and parks in the East London neighbourhood
His current Spanish level: Can order coffee, beers and throw some cracking jokes from Machos Alfa (we recommend watching this on Netflix). Working on everything else ☺
Her current Bulgarian level: Can order “pile” (chicken) and watch a football “matcha” without translation / interest
Life philosophy: For Rocio, life’s too short for bad food or boring company; and for Blagoy is “whatever she said”

FAQ
How do I get to Málaga?
The airport is about 20 minutes from the city center by taxi or shuttle bus.
How do I get there?
If you’re driving to the venue, there is a free parking space on the premise.
If getting there feels complicated, just mention it in your RSVP or drop us a message and we’ll see how we can help.
Where should I stay?
We’ve secured special rates at a couple of hotels for your convenience, but we encourage you to explore the area and find what works best for you (hotels, resorts, airbnbs). Book sooner rather than later as late August is peak season, and places fill up quickly!
If you are staying for a long weekend, we recommend hotels and Airbnb rentals in the vicinity. Anywhere between Málaga, Benalmádena or Torremolinos works well. These areas are all within 15-30 minutes of the venue by car and offer easy access to beaches, restaurants, and local attractions.
For those staying longer, we suggest to rent a car to be more flexible. Marbella is a very nice tourist location but slightly further away (45 mins from Málaga), so just have that in. with beach clubs, golf courses and the charming old town (Casco Antiguo) – making it perfect for a more relaxed base if you’re exploring the Costa del Sol.
What should I wear?
Dress code: Think summery, and elegant but comfortable: this is southern Spain in August, so expect warm, sunny weather with high humidity levels…! For example: flowing maxi dresses or chic jumpsuits, while men can opt for light-coloured suits (beige, light blue, linen) or sharp blazers with chinos which works beautifully in the heat.
Shoes: The ceremony and reception will be held on a mix of tile and lawn. While we want you to look great, we recommend block heels or wedges so you don’t sink into the grass! Choose accordingly ☺, feel free to bring comfortable shoes for the dance floor in the evening.
What's the weather like?
In late August, expect average temperatures of c. 31°C (87°F) during the day, cooling to c. 19-24°C (66-75°F).
Pack sunscreen, sunglasses, and swimsuit.
Can I bring a plus-one?
Are kids welcome?
If you’d like to arrange babysitting or childcare during the event, please mention it in the RSVP form or contact us directly and we can take it into account when planning.
Do you have a registry?
Details to follow.
Do I need to speak Spanish?
Not at all! Many locals speak English, especially in tourist areas.
That said, a «hola», «gracias» (gra-th-i-as), and «por favor» will make you friends.
(The groom is happy to share his Duolingo tips, though we make no guarantees about the effectiveness.)
Do I need to rent a car?
If you’re planning day trips to nearby towns, a rental car would be recommended which can be split between friends and offers more flexibility.
I have more questions!
We’re happy to help make your Málaga trip as smooth as possible!

We can´t wait to celebrate with you under the Spanish sun!

RSVP
Please RSVP by 1 june, so we can confirm final numbers with our caterer (who we’re told is almost as good a cook as the bride, high praise).
